IWL 2019: A Sandhiya quadruple leads a dominant Sethu FC performance
Sandhiya struck four goals as Sethu FC crushed Baroda Football Academy 7-0 in the final group game of the Indian Women's League at Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana.

Sandhiya netted three goals and Ashalata Devi grabbing one before the half-time to give them a comfortable 4-0 lead. Indhumathi and Bala Devi added a fifth and sixth in the second-half, with Sandhiya finishing off the rout in their last group game of the IWL season.

Rout, hat-trick complete

The girls from Tamil Nadu were able to strike early and see off their opposition with relative ease. Sandhiya opened the scoring 14 minutes into the game when Sumithra put the No.18 beyond the Baroda defence and the striker finished it well, driving the ball into the bottom corner and past the keeper.

In the 36th minute, Sandhiya doubled her side's lead after wonderfully pulled the ball back toward the edge of the box and Sumithra powerfully finished the ball into the top corner.

Twenty minutes later, Dangmei Grace then delivered a wonderful through ball for Sandhiya, who rounded off her hat-trick with a low and powerful shot. Ashalata got into the act as well as the first half drew to a close, after Sandhiya beautifully weighed ball to the defender who then made it 4-0.

Smooth second-half

The game was over by half time but Sethu were determined to keep the foot on the gas. However, we didn't have to wait long for the next goal with Captain Indhumathi popping up to slot the ball home in the 74th minute, her second of the tournament.

Number six arrived in the 77th minute, Ashalata moved past one defender before curling a fantastic pass to Ratanbala Devi, who made no mistake, giving the team their sixth goal of the game.

The seventh and final goal of the morning came three minutes from the end, more good play from Sethu once again coming to Indhumathi who played yet another good ball into the area that found Sandhiya who slotted it home to round off the scoring on an another emphatic victory.
